If you go down to the woods today...

That's right... If you go down to the woods today... you're not only sure of a big surprise - but one of the more memorable meals of your time in Brittany!... So, the next time you go to the forest around  Lake Guerledan... OK... but you need to be in Brittany between March/April (probably next year now) and the end of October... but it's worth it anyway up. I'm posting this in early October 2024 and we've been there twice in just one week! Not a difficult decision! Without too much exposure on social media (I'm sure that will ramp up before next season)... they have done brilliantly this year. Check out Betty Food. Émiline, who runs things brilliantly and her partner Erwan, say that on one day in August they handled 250 covers - and that's not surprising because the food is fantastic as well as great value.

The team decided to place their Airstream Trailer, parked close to their Chevy Truck towing vehicle, converted to become a mobile kitchen in a forest glade at the western end of the lake... Lake Guerledan at this point has a couple of very well hidden camp sites and watersports centres. Road access is off a secondary road between Caurel village and Beau Rivage beach - itself accessed off the the N164. We thoroughly recommend that you check it out. In the season it's open from 11am - 11pm. Theyr'e neatly placed amongst camping grounds at the western end of the lake... as well as the trailer/motor home holiday park at Beau Rivage. So guaranteed an attentive clientele during the summer months!

We always have to take Rudy for a walk every day and one of favourite places is the lakeside walk at Beau Rivage... Once parked take the walk that takes you past the Hotel Beau Rivage until it doubles back on itself. Don't double back - instead go through the gap at the point where, off to the right, is a footbridge that takes you further on the walk around the lake shore. Instead walk up the road you'll find yourself on. 100 metres on and a clearing opens up on the right and exposes the Airstream and Betty's dining area which, for the most part consists of a floating marquee covered pontoon which floats on their very own small lake... 'land based dining' is available too, of course, in open fronted covered cabin areas... The whole vibe is quite magical... A little bit of American 'Back Woods' right here in Central Brittany!

OK it's a relatively short menu... Langue du Chat, Bavette and Entrecote 'Cowboy' steaks... Hotdogs:- Chicago, New York & Seattle... Ice Creams l'italienne, Donuts, Cookies & Muffins....It's just brilliant! - Better be a meat eater though!...I'm unsure as to what the vegetarian options might be! And, the portions are exceptional! Bon Chance! Et Bon Appétit!!

Émiline! Quelle entreprise ?! Fantastique! We'll see you there again!
